Our Director of Instruction, Beth Bentley, is a Certified Phlebotomy instructor who has a passion for education with the degrees and experience to prove it. Beth’s love for education began early. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in History with an emphasis in Education and an Integrated Studies minor from the University of Oklahoma. Integrated Studies, sometimes called interdisciplinary studies, brings together diverse disciplines in a comprehensive manner, enabling students to develop a meaningful understanding of the complex associations and influences within a topic.

With our goal of creating the best accelerated phlebotomy course for those seeking Phlebotomy Certification, we knew that intimate knowledge of the underlying principles of how the mind learns and knowledge of Phlebotomy would be needed. Beth’s formal education in this area has made her a valuable asset to the Phlebotomy Now team, both in course creation, and how it is presented in our online format and in designing the hands-on skill lab portion of the Phlebotomy Now Certification program.

Beth is skilled in conducting instructional labs and demonstrating various phlebotomy techniques and procedures to students. In addition to hands-on teaching experience, Beth is also a certified educator, having completed training in instructional design and pedagogy*.

At Phlebotomy Now, Beth is responsible for helping students develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed as phlebotomy professionals, as well as teaching them about infection control, patient care, and laboratory safety. As a student of Phlebotomy Now, if you are fortunate enough to have Ms. Bentley as your lab instructor be prepared for a strict and thorough course.

Beth is dedicated to helping her students at Phlebotomy Now succeed and become competent professionals.

“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.”

– Benjamin Franklin

*In case you didn’t know (light bulb) pedagogy means “the method and practice of teaching, especially as an academic subject or theoretical concept.” We are all about educating.

In a recent interview, Beth shares, “Phlebotomy Now was designed from top to bottom with the busy student in mind with the ultimate goal of exceptional patient care.”

Beth teaches at our Dallas and San Antonio class locations regularly.
